About Us

The Postgraduate Centre at Kingston is primarily concerned with the education of junior doctors to a high standard, especially in the foundation years, i.e. the first two years of their training.

We arrange the teaching programmes, assessments and supervision necessary to ensure that doctors are equipped with the skills they need for the modern NHS. We also monitor the progression of all junior doctors in the Trust and offer them all necessary guidance and support

The Postgraduate Centre also runs GP vocational training day release schemes on Wednesday afternoons. We also organise educational meetings and updates on Tuesdays lunchtimes for Trust doctors and GP's in their respective areas. Programmes for these events are available from the PGMC Dept.

We run a Dental study day on Fridays for the Dental Foundation year 1, as well as running a Dental Nurse National Diploma course on Tuesday evenings. In addition we run Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses both in lectures and hands-on (with phantom head facilities). These include mandatory and core courses for all dental care professionals and are held at Kingston Education Centre.

The Education Centre has two fully equipped lecture theatres and eight seminar rooms which provide venues for individual speciality teaching programmes, Trust statutory and mandatory training, and for meetings, seminars, courses and conferences organised in house or by outside groups. We also have video conference facilities available.
